LOCTITE® 518 is a general-purpose, semi-flexible, medium-strength anaerobic-curing gasketing product designed for sealing close-fitting, rigid machine flanges.

Key Features:

• Anaerobic Cure: Cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces.
• Application: Ideal for sealing rigid flanges made of aluminum, iron, or steel.
• Instant Low-Pressure Seal: Forms an immediate seal upon assembly.
• Chemical Basis: Dimethacrylate ester.
• Color: Red.
• Gap Fill: Up to 0.25 mm (0.01″).
• Operating Temperature Range: -55.0 °C to 150.0 °C (-65.0 °F to 300.0 °F).

Typical Use:

Used as a form-in-place gasket on rigid flanged connections, providing resistance to low pressures immediately after assembly. It is surface contamination-tolerant and primerless for passive metals.
