Honeywell – North Safety RU65001S Full Facepiece Respirator, 5-Point Head Strap, Small

The Honeywell RU65001S full face respirator is the recommended replacement for the Honeywell 752000 full face respirator. The 752000 has been discontinued, we no longer have stock available. The RU65001S uses the N-Series Cartridges. The N-Series cartridges is used with the: 5500, RU8500 and 7700 Series half masks as well as 5400, RU6500 and 7600 Series full facepieces.

This new facepiece is a redesign of the popular Sperian Survivair Opti-Fit full facepiece, which has been re-engineered to accept the North N-Series cartridges, filters, and cartridge/filter combinations.

FAQ

Q Is there a retro-fit kit available to convert my Survivair Opti-Fit facepieces to the North RU6500?
A No. To assure that the facepiece operates as intended and meets NIOSH Certification, we are only offering the RU6500 as a complete facepiece assembly. Replacement parts are available, and listed in the User Instructions and the Technical Data Sheet.

Q Will I need to fit test my workers with the new RU6500 facepiece if they have already been fit tested in the Survivair Opti-Fit?
A No, you will not need to re-fit test your workers if the same size mask is used and your workers have not experienced any physical changes that would require new fit testing. The RU6500 facepiece-to-seal is the same as the Opti-Fit. Standard OSHA and CSA fit test schedules still apply.

Q What are some of the features of the North N-Series filter and cartridge platform?
A Honeywell redesigned the North cartridge and combination cartridge/filters in 2012. This redesign reduced the height of the combination filter/cartridges by 7% and made it easier for workers with smaller hands to perform user seal checks.

Q What are the differences between the new North RU6500 Series and the original Survivair Opti-Fit full facepieces?
A The main differences are:
1. The North RU6500 is NIOSH approved with the
North N-Series cartridges, filters, adapters, and
accessories instead of the S- and T-Series cartridges
and filters approved for use with the Survivair Opti-Fit.
2. The headstraps have been improved so donning and
removing the mask are smoother and easier, while still providing a secure fit.
3. All North RU6500 facepieces will include a center port (40mm DIN thread) in addition to the standard dual cartridge connections, similar in design to the original Survivair Opti-Fit Convertible. There is no ??APR? version with the two cartridge connector ports alone.
4. The exhalation valve flap is now the same one used in the North 5500, 7700, 5400 and 7600 Series facepieces, P/N 770018.

Q How many North RU6500 versions are available?
A There are two versions of the RU6500 facepiece; it is available with both a 5-point head strap and a nylon mesh headnet. Each version will be offered in three (3) sizes (small, medium, and large).
