This Best Welds Hardened Glass Gold Filter Plate is a critical component for protecting welders’ vision inside passive welding helmets. It is a shade 12 glass plate coated in gold, designed to reflect harmful infrared (IR) rays more effectively than standard green filter plates. Using this filter plate helps reduce heat buildup and eye strain, leading to safer, more comfortable welding operations.
- Enhanced Safety: The gold coating reflects infrared radiation, offering superior protection and helping to keep the work area cooler compared to conventional plates.
- Improved Clarity and Efficiency: These plates are precisely shaded and optically correct, ensuring a clear view of the arc and weld puddle for accurate work.
- Durable Construction: Made from strong, hardened glass that is precision ground and edged for a safe, proper, and secure fit within the helmet retainer.
This filter plate is essential for professional welders, fabricators, maintenance crews, and industrial facilities that routinely perform high-amperage shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) or other processes requiring a shade 12 lens.
This lens measures 2 in x 4.25 in and is designed to fit standard welding helmets utilizing this common window size.
